Breeding Your Turtles

When breeding turtles it is important to ensure you have two sexually mature turtle of the opposite sex. Male turtles usually mature at about 3 years and females mature when they are 5 years or so. Make sure these turtles are healthy and well nourished as breeding is very draining. Also keep in mind that turtles that have been newly introduced to your tank are already quite stressed and they should not be engaged in breeding activity for at least a year in order to ensure they are comfortable in their environment.

Breeding Turtles is only for those very committed as much care needs to be taken and having plenty of experience with turtles will help.
